Thermalright Ultima-90 Heatsink Review

Tue 2007-08-21 - Posted by Patrick "MACMAC" MacMillan
During the last few years, Thermalright has been at the forefront of heatsink design. Because of this tradition of quality, and superior cooling performance, Thermalright has developed quite a following among the enthusiast crowd. As such, you will all be happy to know that Anandtech has just posted a review of the company’s newest product, the Thermalright Ultima-90 heatsink.

Let’s see what they had to say:

“The Thermalright Ultima-90 is a surprisingly good cooler, made even more attractive by the smaller size, lighter weight, and lower price tag than most of the top air coolers tested at AnandTech. In virtually every measurement the Ultima-90 was at least the equal of all the top-tier coolers, matching or outperforming the Tuniq 120, Thermalright Ultra-120, Scythe Infinity with push-pull fans, and the Scythe Ninja Plus B/OCZ Vindicator running a high output SilenX IXTREME fan.”

Some of you may not be impressed by a new heatsink that only matches the standard Ultra-120. However, Thermalright has done a terrific job obtaining optimal cooling performance from a smaller package. This product will no doubt be a huge success, because it can be used in a wide range of smaller cases, which are incompatible with taller heatsinks.
