Intel Core i7-980X Extreme Edition "Gulftown" Six-Core CPU Reviews

Intel's highly anticipated new Core i7-980X Extreme Edition processor have just been reviewed by a slew of sites. This new "Gulftown" processor features six cores, twelve threads, a 3.33Ghz core clock, unlocked multipliers, 12MB of L3 cache, and a princely pricetag of $999. Although the reviews have now been posted, actual availability is still a few weeks away.

Although there isn't much software than can utilize up to 12 threads (3DMark Vantage can!), those applications that are highly multi-threaded see some HUGE performance improvements with this processor.
